  • Genesis Friends for Life Launches Charity Auction to Support October 7th Victims and Their Families

Genesis Friends for Life Launches Charity Auction to Support October 7th Victims and Their Families

Over the past 13 months, aid for those affected by the devastating October 7th attacks has poured into Israel in a variety of shapes and forms. Physical support, such as resources and donations, has been generously provided to alleviate the distress brought about by the gruesome assault. At the same time, millions around the world have contributed emotional support by keeping those afflicted in their thoughts, prayers, and blessings.

At an enterprise level, philanthropic efforts have arisen in a variety of displays. For instance, the Genesis Friends for Life Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit registered in the U.S. and part of the Genesis Business Humanity family of companies, created the Doran Grant for Life program. Named in honor of Doron Aviman, the program provides Israeli orphans, widows, and their families with the vital help and support they need to heal and thrive.

However, for all the good that these gracious endeavors have already accomplished, the implications of these appalling attacks are still felt by those in Israel. There’s still more that can be done to help the men, women, and children impacted by the conflict and to allow them to regain normalcy in their everyday lives.

The Genesis Friends for Life Foundation knows this, which is why they are proud to announce the launch of its exclusive online charity auction as an impactful fundraising initiative, open now through November 21st, 2024. 100% of the proceeds raised through the auction, which is accessible at gffl.afrogs.org, will directly benefit orphans and widows affected by the devastating events of October 7th, 2023.

“Our charity auction is more than a fundraising event; it is a beacon of solidarity and a tangible step toward healing for these families,” said Genesis Founder Amiel David Aviman. “In supporting this auction, Genesis members are upholding the intrinsic values that are the cornerstone of our community.”

The Genesis Friends for Life Foundation invites Genesis Business Humanity Club members to bid on a range of coveted items, with each auction item offering bidders a unique way to contribute to this vital cause. The items include one-of-a-kind artworks by renowned artists and autographed entertainment media by popular personalities, such as John Travolta, Frank Sinatra, and others.

On top of this, the auction will include hand-signed sports collectibles and memorabilia comprising iconic athletes such as Mike Tyson and Arnold Palmer. Luxury vacations and unique travel experiences will also be available for bidding, with trips to Hawaii, Paris, Ireland, and other extraordinary destinations available to win.

“Each remarkable item provided by our members and supporters not only demonstrates the spirit of giving within our community but also presents an opportunity for us to leave a lasting impact,” Amiel stated.

Hosted by founders Amiel David Aviman and Ranny Yarom, the auction acts as an extension of the organization’s mission to provide lasting support and compassion to those enduring loss and hardship. The proceeds from this auction will sustain the Doron Grant for Life, which was founded on the belief that every child and widow deserves dignity, hope, and the opportunity for a fulfilling future.

As a program committed to fostering resilience and opportunity for families who have lost their loved ones, the Doron Grant for Life funds educational opportunities, counseling, and essential support services, empowering victims to reclaim their futures with confidence and stability.

This auction leads to the One Year Memorial Gala, which will be held on November 21st, 2024. The gala will bring together Genesis Business Humanity Club members to honor the memories of those lost and reinforce the community’s commitment to extending support to the affected families. It will be an evening of reflection, remembrance, and renewed purpose.

“By participating, Genesis members and supporters are doing more than acquiring cherished collectibles; they’re investing in the futures of orphans and widows whose lives were shattered on October 7th,” Amiel continued.

In this role, Aaron helped identify future business leaders destined to impact organizations and communities, doubling the chapter’s membership ranks.

In 2018, Aaron led the turnaround of one of America’s top steakhouses, RED, the Steakhouse in Miami Beach, preserving this institution and saving 80 jobs. Aaron and his team were awarded the TMA’s Small Business Turnaround of the Year for this achievement. Aaron currently manages RED’s restaurant operations, business development, and strategy and is an active investor and partner in numerous other restaurants and hospitality concepts, including Chicago, Smyth, a three-star Michelin gem and one of the world’s very best restaurants.

  • Resilience and Renewal: Genesis Friends for Life Israel’s Transformative Mission

Resilience and Renewal: Genesis Friends for Life Israel’s Transformative Mission

In a time of unprecedented turmoil, when the scars of war are etched deep into the lives of many, there arises a beacon of hope and resilience. Genesis Friends for Life Israel (FFL Israel), a newly established non-governmental organization, is poised to revolutionize the lives of the country’s most vulnerable children. At the forefront of this audacious initiative is Dr. Lior Aviman, a seasoned educator, philosopher, and humanitarian whose life’s work has been dedicated to bridging divides and nurturing potential. His appointment as Chief Executive Officer heralds a new era for Israeli orphans affected by the ongoing conflict.

Dr. Lior Aviman’s journey to this pivotal role is steeped in a lifelong commitment to education and social justice. Born and raised in Israel, Aviman’s academic pursuits in psychology and philosophy laid a solid foundation for his career in educational leadership. He served as an Education and Information Officer in the Israeli Defense Forces, gaining invaluable experience in administrative and organizational capacities. His tenure at institutions like The Branco Weiss Institute and the Hand in Hand Center for Jewish-Arab Education highlights his expertise in differential teaching and his dedication to fostering Jewish-Arab relations.

As CEO of FFL Israel, Dr. Aviman’s vision is profound and practical. “Our mission is clear: to identify, serve, follow, and continuously support the Genesis family of children who lost a parent or both parents as a result of the Iron Swords war,” he asserts. The cornerstone of this mission is the Doron Grant for Life, a groundbreaking program meticulously designed to ensure that orphanhood does not hinder a child’s potential. Named in honor of Doron Aviman, the grant is a beacon of hope, aiming to provide orphans with educational and occupational opportunities that pave the way for a successful and fulfilling life.

The statistics are staggering and heartbreaking. Prior to the conflict, Israel already had 10,000 orphans, with only 120 adoptions annually. The recent violence has exacerbated this crisis, adding over 700 new orphans to the count. The Israeli Ministry of Welfare is overwhelmed, struggling to meet the burgeoning needs. This is where FFL Israel is determined to fill the gaps and extend a lifeline to those most affected.

Dr. Aviman’s approach is holistic and future-focused. Each orphan in the program will receive long-term support tailored to harness their inherent abilities and strengths. The program guarantees higher education, aiming for every participant to attain at least a bachelor’s degree, and ensures they reach financial independence by the end of the program. Moreover, the orphans will receive leadership training, preparing them to be self-sufficient community leaders. Genesis business partners worldwide will offer additional support, ensuring these young individuals have a robust network to lean on.

The impact of such a program extends beyond individual lives; it is a blueprint for societal transformation. “These are the future peacemakers in Israel and globally,” says Amiel Aviman, co-founder and Chairman of Genesis Group and Genesis Friends for Life Global Foundation. “From their trauma will come greatness and grace.”

Dr. Aviman’s leadership is already garnering support from various quarters. Genesis Friends for Life Israel boasts a distinguished board, including seasoned professionals like Ranny Yarom, Amiel Aviman, and Eli Dalfin. Their collective expertise and commitment are instrumental in driving the organization’s mission. Collaborations with entities like Bayit Cham, a pioneer in mental health rehabilitation, ensure that comprehensive support—spanning therapeutic, vocational, and educational services—is available to every orphan.

The road ahead is undoubtedly challenging, but Dr. Aviman’s unwavering passion and strategic vision are powerful catalysts for change. His belief in the potential of every child, regardless of their circumstances, is a testament to his deep humanitarianism and educational philosophy. As he puts it, “The Doron Grant for Life provides orphans with a path where orphanhood does not constitute an obstacle in any way to the realization of their full personal, educational, and occupational potential.”

Genesis Friends for Life Israel, guided by Dr. Aviman, is more than an organization; it is a movement toward healing and rebuilding. It promises that a brighter, more inclusive future can emerge from the ashes of conflict. Dr. Aviman and FFL Israel offer hope, support, and the opportunity to dream again for the children who have lost so much.

  • Bring Them Home: Do Your Part And Make The Calls

Bring Them Home: Do Your Part And Make The Calls

Since the terrorist attacks on Israel on October 7, the son of a Member of Genesis Business Humanity Club has been held hostage by Hamas.

Ruby Chen’s son, Itay, was taken captive by Hamas along with hundreds of others on Oct. 7. He doesn’t know if his son is even still alive.

The 19-year-old was serving with Israel Defense Forces at the country’s southern border when he was captured by Hamas and taken hostage into Gaza along with hundreds of others on Oct. 7, according to his father.

Itay is one of eight American citizens still being held captive by Hamas, Ruby said.

In an interview with Scripps News, Ruby said his son is “multi-talented” and the “life of the party.”

    ITAY CHEN (MISSING PERSONS CENTER)

He said his son can sing, dance and knows an array of card tricks. He hopes, perhaps, Itay was able to get his hands on a deck of cards and is keeping everyone’s minds busy by showing off his card magic as they remain captive.

Ruby said since his son went missing, he has gone to Congress and met with President Joe Biden, who he said gave his word he’s doing everything he can to bring the Americans held hostage by Hamas home. He was also among hostage family members chosen to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.  During the interview, he held up an hourglass. Ruby said he carries it with him around Washington to represent the urgency needed to set all the hostages free.

“The U.N. resolution cannot be so one-sided,” said Ruby, speaking about the U.N. Security Council’s efforts. “Why is that resolution not including the immediate release of all the hostages?”

But Ruby is not losing hope.

Thousands of families are suffering, while millions also suffer in many ways. Imagine if your child or grandchild was among the hostages, your mother or father, grandmother, or grandfather. It is upon us all to do all we can to keep the pressure on government officials to bring every hostage home.

We urge you to go to One Minute A Day, a platform that makes it easy to call your congressman or senator and allows you to receive daily reminders to keep making those calls.

    The numbers matter.

You are more powerful than you may believe, as every call made to United States elected officials, whether you speak to someone or leave a message, is tallied by a congressional aide. Every call counts.

Please sign up here today, then make a quick call or leave a voicemail and demand the immediate release of all the hostages in Gaza. An easy and simple act, just 1 min of your day, is the most effective action you can do.

You can also sign up for reminders each day, and you can spread the word through your business networks, family, friends, and communities.

We will keep you updated on Itay Chen, as his father and family continue to fight everyday for his release and the release of all hostages.

We believe Israel will prevail and the Jewish people will stand together as they always do. Am Yisrael Chai.

Omer Hazan, known for his acting roles in Al Techaki, The Engineer and Asfur, will also be joining the approximately 150 guests, many of whom are charter members of the Genesis Business Humanity Club, a Miami-based organization made up of elite business and humanitarian leaders.

Additionally, Consul General Maor Elbaz-Starinsky will be sharing a few words.  Elbaz-Starinsky leads the Miami Consulate of Israel and works together with influential Jewish and Israeli communities in Florida to promote interfaith cooperation to combat antisemitism and racism.

“This will be a very special event that brings together the Miami community in support of orphans, children, and families in Israel in the wake of the horrific massacre,” said Amiel Aviman, co-founder and CEO of Genesis Business Humanity based in Miami.

“Attending this event will raise funds and awareness around the opportunity to ensure orphaned children, widows, and families in Israel will have access to resources and can set out on a path for a successful life of joy and promise,” said Ranny Yarom, co-founder and CEO of Genesis Business Humanity based in Israel.

Yarom is leading all projects on the ground in Israel, working with community leaders and the IDF (as a retired Colonel and entrepreneur), and ensuring resources go directly to those most affected by the brutality and destruction near the Gaza border as swiftly as possible.
