  • Cultivating Innovation for a Better World

Cultivating Innovation for a Better World

Ingenuity and innovation are flourishing throughout our society, encompassing everything from how multinationals build out their global operations to enhancing the comforts we can afford in our everyday lives. Whether the latest incorporation of AI has enhanced the production line or improved the fluidity of your digital assistant, the drive behind innovation has always been to create and apply solutions to meaningful problems.

For Genesis Club member Dave Wolf, providing the foundation for these disruptive technologies is key to solving previously insurmountable problems, influencing change in our lives, and shaping a better future. As co-founder and managing partner of Pollen Innovation Group, Dave focuses on nurturing brilliant entrepreneurs and impactful innovations that contribute to the well-being of our environment and humanity.

Established in 2020, the Pollen Innovation Group is an investment group that has successfully redefined the metrics of investment success by weaving social responsibility into its ethos. Operating under the guiding principle that investments should generate meaningful returns for investors, society, and the environment, the Pollen Innovation Group has become a vital force in the world.

These principles are encapsulated by their Return-on-Happiness (ROH) model for gauging performance. Defined as “Good for People, Good for the Planet, Good for ROI,” the Pollen Innovation Group’s ROH framework integrates environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria into their investment decisions.

Assaf Bivas, managing partner at Pollen Innovation Group stated, “By prioritizing people, planet, and profit, we believe we can unlock a new paradigm of value creation. Our ROH framework goes beyond traditional financial metrics to measure the holistic impact of our investments.” He continued. “By considering factors like social equity, environmental sustainability, and good governance, we’re not just maximizing returns for our investors, but also driving positive change in the world.”

This follows recent evidence suggesting a correlation between the integration of ESG principles into portfolios and a 10 percent lower cost of capital. Over a four-year study period, companies with high ESG scores, on average, experienced lower costs of capital compared to companies with poor ESG scores in both developed and emerging markets. Opting to evaluate their business outcomes from this fresh perspective, the investor ecosystem fostered at the Pollen Group believes that potential returns over the longer term can be increased by broadening their perspective.

To certify that investments are suitable for people, the planet, and ROI, Pollen Innovation Group’s “Venture Garden” model brings together groundbreaking initiatives that meet the previously unmet needs of millions around the world to generate a measurable impact on communities and for Earth. Their portfolio spans diverse sectors, including sustainable technology, healthcare innovation, and biotech. This breadth allows Pollen Innovation Group to support solutions addressing some of the most pressing global challenges, from climate change to public health.

Their investments include KIP Medical, a company that pioneers biotech-based oral care, and ODE Pharma, which develops innovative treatments for respiratory and pulmonary disorders. Another notable investment is Kenaf Ventures, an advanced cleantech company transforming CO2 emissions into advanced biomaterials for various industries. These companies embody the group’s mission to address unfulfilled needs and promote sustainability.

Asaf Ofer, managing partner at Pollen Innovation Group, affirmed “The success of our portfolio companies is a testament to the power of our investment model. KIP Medical and ODE Pharma are already making significant strides in improving oral and respiratory health, respectively, while Kenaf Ventures is leading the way in sustainable material innovation. These achievements not only demonstrate the commercial viability of our investments but also highlight their positive impact on human well-being and the environment.”

Their work underscores the growing importance of impact investing in today’s financial landscape. As more firms recognize the value of integrating ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) criteria into their investment strategies, the pioneering efforts of groups like Pollen Innovation become even more critical.

The Pollen Innovation Group offers a compelling blueprint for those looking to understand the future of responsible investing. Their unwavering commitment to balancing profit with purpose sets a high standard and serves as an inspiring model for the financial community in the future.

Genesis Friends for Life Global Foundation Introduces Celebrity Ambassadors Yaakov-Zada Daniel and Omer Hazan

February 28, 2023; Miami Beach, Florida; Tel Aviv Israel – Genesis Friends for Life Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit registered in the U.S. and part of the Genesis Business Humanity family of companies, today announced two major Israeli television and film actors are the first celebrities to join its new Global Ambassador Program.

Yaakov Zada-Daniel, from the hit, show Fauda, himself an orphan who has established an orphanage in Israel, earlier this year attended an event in Miami produced by the Foundation to raise funds for immediate support of orphans, widows, children, and families most affected by the October 7 terrorist attacks.

Yaakov, who was orphaned at the age of three, grew up in the desert village of Neradim, a children’s-home and kibbutz for vulnerable kids from across Israel. He spent 15 years living with his new brothers and sisters. Today, he continues to support an orphanage, which was recently granted $10,000 by the Foundation, and has been named the first celebrity Ambassador and the face and voice of “Friends for Life.”

“It is an honor to represent Genesis Friends for Life Foundation and a privilege to have been one of their first grant recipients,” Zada-Daniel said. “Their vision is enhanced with innovation, using technologies the Genesis Business Humanity Club is expert in and has invested in, to identify orphans whose lives were nearly destroyed on October 7, and then engage with those orphans, the remaining members of their families if any, and ensure these orphans receive care and compassionate support. This includes providing mental health professionals, overall healthcare, education, safe and comfortable places to live, and mentorship as each orphan selected for the program is cared for through their late teens, including getting into the best universities in Israel. This is an extraordinary strategy, and one being implemented by experienced leaders with integrity, heart, and a love for Israel and Israel’s children and families.”

Additionally, Omer Hazan, known for his acting roles in Al Techaki, The Engineer, and Asfur, who attended the event on October 25th in Miami and is also on the Foundation’s Board of Advisors, is helping raise awareness and promote the Foundation’s mission.

“I was invited to attend one of the most moving events I’ve ever been part of on October 26 in Miami,” Hazan said, “and will never forget meeting so many friends of Israel who were so deeply committed to immediately helping those orphans, widows, children, and families near the Gaza Strip who were murdered and traumatized by Hamas terrorists. The Genesis family is truly that – a family that brings together extremely successful entrepreneurs to support the tech industry in combination with a non-profit foundation raising funds for programs that will make such a positive, long-term difference in so many orphans’ lives. Children are the future of Israel, and this includes those children who lost parents and other family members on October 7 and in the resulting war over the last few months. What distinguishes Genesis Friends for Life Foundation is their solid strategic approach, their commitment to “for life,” and their presence in both the U.S. and Israel where partnerships have already formed and support is flowing.”

Genesis Friends for Life Global Foundation’s mission is to identify, serve, follow, and continuously support the Genesis family of orphans into their adulthood; this is an innovation that will make a tremendous difference in every orphan’s life, including finding career opportunities in the Israeli tech sector – from internships to high-paying jobs.

“We are honored and grateful for the continuing and intense support Yaakov and Omer bring to our Advisory Board as special members, and look forward to attracting additional celebrities to this important mission, supporting orphans, widows, children, and families in Israel in the wake of the horrific massacre,” said Amiel Aviman, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Genesis Business Humanity and Co-founder and Co-Chair of Genesis Friends for Life Foundation based in Miami.

“We are bringing immediate and ongoing resources to orphans, widows, children, families, and small communities in Israel during and following the war, and the support of Yaakov and Omer is priceless as we continue to raise money and implement projects in Israel in real-time,” said Ranny Yarom, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Genesis Business Humanity and Co-founder and Co-Chair of Genesis Friends for Life Foundation based in Miami.

Yarom is leading all projects on the ground in Israel, working with community leaders and the IDF (as a retired Colonel and entrepreneur), and ensuring resources go directly to those most affected by the brutality and destruction near the Gaza border.

ABOUT GENESIS FRIENDS FOR LIFE GLOBAL FOUNDATION

On October 7, 2023, during the holiday of Shmini Atzeret, Hamas terrorists launched a violent, bloody attack on Israel from Gaza, firing thousands of rockets, breaching the country’s borders, and killing and wounding over 1,000 innocent people. Working with our Genesis Business Humanity Board of Directors and Membership and with long-standing philanthropic partners, we are focused on supporting orphans, widows, children, and families to rebuild homes and communities following this horrific attack.

We believe Israel will prevail, and the Jewish people will stand together as they always do. Am Yisrael Chai.
